Hypnotherapy:
Coping with Grief & Loss

I know it's over for us but I just cannot let go. I don't know why. Everywhere I go, reminds me of us.

I didn't even have a chance to say goodbye. Will dad forgive me for not being there when he left this world? There's so much I want to say to him. So many accrued sorry I failed to say.

It seems that a natural turning point for everyone is at the point of grief and loss. How we eventually cope with it will affect our belief system and perception of life thereafter.

Generally, a griever goes through five stages:
Stage of Denial
The griever refuses to accept the loss has occurred.
Stage of
Anger
The griever may be angry at either the person/object that has been lost or anyone else, even himself.
Stage of Depression
This stage can happen simultaneously with the stage of anger. At these stages, the griever has to learn coping methods, so that he can move on in life without doing any further damage to himself and those around him.
Stage of Bargaining
The griever will bargain with anyone: God, his therapist or anyone in his life, even himself. This is our natural coping mechanism.
Stage of Resolution
This is also known as the Stage of Acceptance, where we finally decide to move on in life.

Knowing the stages may not be enough to help some individuals cope with grief and loss. Many of us need a proper closure that will help us to let go. Some people may even discover unexpected reasons to their inability to let go during hypnotherapy sessions.

Hanging on to what is no longer there may result in you losing even more of what and who is with you now. You decide how much more you want to lose.

I want to move on.
